Biography

Farid F. Umarov is a Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics and a Professor with extensive expertise in physical electronics, microelectronics devices, and materials science. He earned his Master’s degree in Engineering and Physics from Tashkent Polytechnic Institute in 1967 and his Doctor of Sciences degree from Moscow State University in 1992, with a thesis focused on computer simulation of ion scattering, channeling, and recoil atom formation on surfaces and thin crystals. Since 2004, he has served as a Professor at the Kazakh British Technical University, School of Materials Science & Green Technologies, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Professor Umarov is the author of over 350 scientific publications, including five monographs, more than 50 high–impact international journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, textbooks, and USSR author’s certificates. He has participated in over 40 international scientific conferences worldwide and has received numerous grants, certificates, and honors, including membership in the New York Academy of Sciences, the European Academy of Natural Sciences, and the American Nano Society, as well as the “Man of the Year 2000” award from the American Biographical Institute.
